
Andy Meira is an award-winning architect based in Mexico City, registered in the UK with ARB and RIBA, who has designed projects across the world, including in the UK, India, Malawi, Haiti, and Mexico.
Andy studied at the prestigious Architectural Association for his BA and post-graduate Diploma. Additionally, he earned his architectural license at the University of East London and also London South Bank University. He has also attended briefly at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and Auburn University in Alabama (the Rural Studio).
Throughout his career, Andy has worked in various roles with leading international firms, contributing to significant projects such as the Nike Headquarters in London, the Royal Academy of Music Extension, and the prototype school for the Government of Malawi, among others. For many years, he collaborated closely with the chairman of John McAslan + Partners, leading the firm’s international sustainability projects.
In 2010, Andy joined the Clinton Foundation in Haiti, where he began specializing in sustainable architecture for developing countries. In Haiti Andy coordinated some of the most important post-earthquake reconstruction projects and on behalf of CGI coordinated a large group of private, public and NGO building projects including Architecture for Humanity, IDB, Prince’s Trust, Turner Construction and many others.
His work reflects a commitment to innovative, environmentally conscious design that makes people’s lives better, be it a home, a school or a communal space.
